The hospitals in the country, with rising expenditure face. According to the National Statistical Office in Bad Ems emerged in the past year a total cost of around 3.15 billion euros, or 3.1 percent more than in 2006.
The largest share of expenditure with 2.01 billion euros (plus 1.6 percent) was attributable to personnel costs. Especially strong were the expenses for medical personnel to the top. It was 2007 at around 541 million euros (plus 5.0 percent). According to the statisticians suggested especially the recent wage settlements to Beech. The cost for the nurses, the largest single item in the balance sheet, grew only slightly by 0.1 percent to around 690 million euros.
Apparently existence of many institutions threatened.
